Intravenous (IV) Infusion Therapy
At DropFusion IV in El Segundo, CA we provide intravenous (IV) infusion drip therapy that delivers fluids, vitamins, and minerals into your bloodstream to boost hydration and nutrient intake in your body.
Our IV drips deliver hydration and nutrients directly into the bloodstream. A Registered Nurse will place a small, flexible plastic tube into a vein in your arm, allowing for the delivery of fluids, vitamins, and minerals. Depending on the patient and volume of fluids delivered, IV Infusions can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes.
All mobile appointments are subject to travel fee dependent on location.
Why Get Intravenous (IV) Infusion Therapy?
Most people get their vitamins and micronutrients through food, however, some people may also take multivitamin pills. When vitamins and micronutrients are consumed orally, they go to the stomach and intestines, where they are broken down by gastrointestinal enzymes and absorbed into the bloodstream. There is a limit to how quickly these compounds can be absorbed from the gastrointestinal system— the vitamins that aren’t absorbed pass through the body and are expelled as feces.
On top of that, most chemicals ingested from the colon pass via the liver for further processing before reaching the remainder of the body. Other factors that influence the number of vitamins absorbed from the intestine include your metabolism, age, genetics, and bodily interactions with other orally taken goods.
At the end of the day, a considerable portion of the vitamins and micronutrients consumed orally is wasted, with only a small portion reaching the rest of the body. The body does not gain the full advantages of these chemicals when they are orally taken as food or other supplements, as is the case with the majority of vitamins and micronutrients that go to waste.
